Derailed…But Back on Track!

Shadow_06192019.jpg

Hello Friends and Family!

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers for Shadow!

Here she is back at home (see above photo) standing and walking on her own now after being stricken last month with “Old Dog Vestibular Disease.” She spent a week at Tri-State Veterinary Hospital, where she was cared for expertly and given intravenous fluids. Her nystagmus has completely gone away, thankfully, and her mobility-balance impairment is vastly improved.

Even so, if she shakes off a bug too vigorously or sneezes too hard, she can still fall over!  She gets right back up, though. She’s a fighter!

This medical emergency derailed me for a bit, but I am back on track now and getting used to our “new normal.”

I apologize for being “out of pocket” and for being delinquent in announcing the winners of the Fur Momma Giveaway, but I hope you understand.

Winners of the Fur Momma Giveaway!

Thank you to all who participated in the Mother’s Day 2019 Fur Momma Giveaway!

I am so grateful for all your wonderful responses!  There is no doubt that there is a lot of love out there for all our precious animals!

Thank you, too, to the following Winners of the 2019 Fur Momma Giveaway: Lou Anne Burns, Maddie Schwartz, Lisa Neely, and Jessica Whitfield.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Here are their winning responses to the key question, “When Did You Know You Were a Fur Mama?”

First Place—Lou Anne Burns:

“I first knew I was a Fur Mama at a very young age.  The year I turned 3 I received a beautiful baby carriage for Christmas, along with a beautiful baby doll to ride in it.  Well, the baby doll never got to ride in that carriage, only my very large and diverse group of stuffed animal babies received my time and attention and miles of rides in that lovely carriage. Animals rock my world—I could not exist without them!”

Second Place—Maddie Schwartz:

“When my friends at work started wishing me a ‘Happy Mother’s Day,’ I knew I was a Fur Mama!”

Third Place-Lisa Neely:

“My first clue that I was a Fur Mama was when I was a child and my puppy almost died, and I stayed up many nights taking care of her to save her.  My animals brought me comfort through a lot of great times and chaotic times.”

Honorable Mention-Jessica Whitfield:

“My Mom is allergic to any animal with hair, so I remember when I was about 8 years old telling her that she wouldn’t be able to visit me when I grew up because my house would be full of animals.!”

CONGRATULATIONS, again, to all four winners who will each receive a Fur Momma Gift Bag of goodies!
